ClearCycle™ Acrylic roundel

The Redco Group Ltd., 19695 – 92A Avenue, Langley, BC V1M 3B3, Canada, provides this limited warranty and is referred to below as “we” and “us”. It covers ClearCycle™ Acrylic Clear 0000 cast acrylic sheet only, for 10 years from the original purchase date shown on the Original Purchase Receipt, within Canada. In this warranty, 'you' means the Purchaser.

1. Definitions

1.1

'Sheet' means ClearCycle™ Acrylic cast sheet in Clear 0000, as originally supplied.

1.2

“Fabricated Product” means any product made by a third party that incorporates the Sheet.

1.3

“Purchaser” means the person or business that first bought the Sheet, or a Fabricated Product containing it, in Canada and holds the Original Purchase Receipt.

1.4

“Authorized Distributor” means Redwood Plastics and Rubber or Industrial Plastics & Paints.

1.5

“Original Purchase Receipt” means the original invoice or receipt issued at the first sale to the Purchaser.

1.6

“Warranty Period” means 10 years from the date on the Original Purchase Receipt.

2. Scope

2.1

The Sheet is made for indoor and outdoor glazing and fabrication.

2.2

This warranty applies to Sheet purchased on its own or incorporated into a Fabricated Product.

2.3

Only Clear 0000 is covered. ClearCycle™ Acrylic colours other than Clear 0000, including all coloured, tinted and white sheets, are excluded.

2.4

The Sheet must have been purchased in Canada and installed in Canada.

3. Performance we warrant

During the Warranty Period, under normal outdoor weathering, the Sheet will:

3.1

Retain at least 70% of its light transmission measured at the time of manufacture.

3.2

Retain at least 70% of its flexural modulus measured at the time of manufacture.

3.3

Retain at least 70% of its flexural strength measured at the time of manufacture.

3.4

Show a change in yellowness (Δb*) of no more than 7.

3.5

Time-of-manufacture values are available from your Authorized Distributor or from us. Quote the ClearCycle™ Acrylic lot number when requesting them.

4. How performance is measured

4.1

Light transmission is measured according to DIN 5036, as a single reading using a 520 nm light source, on a clean sample with no scratches.

4.2

Yellowness is measured as the change in b* (Δb*) in the CIE L*a*b* colour space, in transmission, using illuminant D65 and the 10° standard observer. A clean sample with no scratches is compared with the value recorded at the time of manufacture.

4.3

Flexural strength and flexural modulus are measured according to ISO 178 on samples first conditioned at 23 °C (73.4 °F) and 50% relative humidity.

4.4

We may arrange independent testing and request a sample of up to 1 m² (about 10.8 ft²).

4.5

We may inspect the installation site after giving reasonable notice.

5. Registration

5.1

Within 30 days of purchase, the Purchaser must send us this certificate, completed and signed by the seller, together with a copy of the Original Purchase Receipt. The seller is the Authorized Distributor or, for a Fabricated Product, the fabricator who sold it. The seller must provide the ClearCycle™ Acrylic lot number. Send registrations by email or mail to the contact shown in this certificate.

5.2

We will confirm registration in writing. Keep our confirmation: it is required for any claim.

6. Making a claim

6.1

Only the Purchaser may make a claim and must provide the Original Purchase Receipt.

6.2

Notify us in writing within 30 days after discovering the issue, or after the date you reasonably should have discovered it.

6.3

Include your registration confirmation, Original Purchase Receipt, ClearCycle™ Acrylic lot number, photographs, a description of the issue and installation details. Send the claim to the claims contact shown in this certificate.

6.4

Do not remove or discard affected Sheet until we approve the claim.

7. Remedies

7.1

Before we ship any replacement, all affected Sheet must be returned to The Redco Group Ltd. for assessment. Return shipping is at the Purchaser's cost.

7.2

At our option, we will replace the affected Sheet with the same product, supply an equivalent ClearCycle™ Acrylic product, or reimburse the reasonable cost of repair.

7.3

Replacement Sheet is covered only for the time remaining in the original Warranty Period.

7.4

Our total liability will not exceed the purchase price of the affected Sheet.

8. What this warranty does not cover

The following products, circumstances and causes of damage are excluded:

Improper installation or support; inadequate allowance for thermal expansion and contraction; faulty design or fabrication of a Fabricated Product; or fastening, bonding or sealing methods that damage the Sheet.

8.3

Processing after manufacture

Thermoforming, bending or other heat processing; or coatings, paints, sealants, films or other treatments applied after manufacture.

8.4

Handling

Damage during transport, storage, handling or installation.

8.5

Chemical and environmental exposure

Corrosive chemicals or fumes; abrasive or incompatible materials; corroded fasteners that were not replaced; or debris that was not removed.

8.6

Accidental or deliberate damage or vandalism; or earthquake, storm, hail, fire, flood or similar events.

8.7

Cleaning or maintenance contrary to Section 10. The Sheet is not scratch- or abrasion-resistant.

9. Conditions for coverage

9.1

The Sheet must be installed, used and maintained according to our published guidelines and all applicable codes and standards in effect at the time of installation.

9.2

All components in contact with the Sheet must be compatible with acrylic.

10. Care and cleaning

10.1

Clean the Sheet at least once a year. Regular cleaning reduces, but does not eliminate, the effects of weathering.

10.2

10.3

Never use brushes, scrapers, abrasive pads, solvents, or ammonia- or alcohol-based cleaners.

10.4

To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for labour to remove, repair or reinstall Sheet, or for personal injury, property damage, loss of income, profit or business, or any indirect or consequential loss.

12. Your rights under provincial law

12.1

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights that vary by province or territory. Nothing in this warranty excludes, restricts or modifies any right, remedy, warranty or condition implied or imposed by law that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under applicable provincial consumer protection or sale of goods legislation.

13. General

13.1

Express warranty

This is the only express warranty for the Sheet and replaces all other express warranties.
